We’re calling all former (and current) staffers of our great newspaper back to the LIU Brooklyn campus for Reunion 2008, October, 2008. Join us to reconnect with the camaraderie, discussion and funky fun of the Seawanhaka experience.

A collection of former Seawanhaka staffers (in collaboration with the University Alumni Office and the Brooklyn LIU Journalism department) is organizing an event that will be filled with fun and provocative discussion. And whether you went on to pursue journalism or some other career, we’re looking to involve as many former staffers as possible in the 2008 Seawanhaka Staff Reunion.

In addition to social gatherings and mini-reunions within the various classes, the reunion will feature exhibits of Seawanhaka memorabilia displays and school tours.

Alumni are invited to bring samples of their work (current and from their Seawanhaka glory days), to help everyone network and reminisce. We’re looking for input, memorabilia and anything else that will help make our 2008 Seawanhaka Staff Reunion fabulous – so please contact us and get involved as we count down to October, 2008!

Reunion's Coming

LIU will host a celebration of Seawanhaka's 80th anniversary on Saturday, October 11, 2008.

The location: LIU's Downtown Brooklyn Campus.

The suggested contribution: $125 per person.

The full schedule is still being worked out, but the basic itinerary at this point is this:

5pm — Seawanhaka editor's roundtable (Kumble Theatre)

7pm — Cocktails (Kumble Theatre)

8 pm — Dinner and Program (Luntey Commons)

For further information, contact Michael J.
